The schedule for the league stage of Indian Premier League (IPL) is out.

 Defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will take on each other in a blockbuster opening clash of the season on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium. 

IPL 2020 will start only 11 days after India’s home ODI series against South Africa ends on March 18 in Kolkata.


As per reports, two teams will be formed by combining all the eight franchises. One side will comprise of players from four franchises in the North east of india
 – Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

While, the other side will include players from the remaining four teams of South east of India  – Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians.
